More Cheap Eats and a Cheap Hotel

Vegas Buffets

(taken from Where to Eat in Vegas) We have covered some cheap places to eat that are near the Strip, but what about options for the more adventurous in search of a good bargain? We have you taken care of! Here are some options that will leave you full and ready to get back into town with a heavier wallet than usual:

The Stations

These would be Boulder, Palace, Texas, and Sunset Stations, and they offer some good buffet food away from the hustle and bustle. Notice we say good, not great. If you’re looking for fancy food or presentation, look away, but if you’re in for a good, well-priced meal that will fill you up, any of the buffets here will do.

Terrible’s (site here)

As the name implies, you may want to pick and choose what to eat here based on the time of day. Late night, you can get steak, chicken, spaghetti, and more for only about five bucks. Perfect after a night of partying, and the breakfast deals run all day — pancakes, eggs, and bacon for three bucks. Not bad for food that’s not terrible.

Ellis Island Microbrewery (site here)

It’s about a block away from center Strip and the largest Super 8 we’ve seen. It has a great $8 steak special that isn’t on the menu; ask for it, however, and you get one of the best deals in Vegas food. Home-brewed beer and a Thursday pizza special complete a great value if you don’t mind the atmosphere.

We also have a great deal on where to stay–Circus Circus in Vegas. It’s perfect whether for a family vacation or just to enjoy the sights and sounds.

Cheap Vegas Food

Vegas Cheap Food(this post taken from Where to Eat in Vegas, our other blog regarding all the latest and greatest Vegas gourmet)

When you want extra Vegas gambling money, you have to cut other things out of your budget, or go cheap on a few. We’re here to put a few extra bucks in your pocket (or in the slot machines) by suggesting some places that will help you achieve that goal:

Food Courts on the Strip

This is easily one of the cheapest options–Panda Express, McDonald’s, Chipotle, Subway (Casino Royale), Outback, and the like will leave you full and with more money than some of the better-tasting but more expensive other options. The Venetian’s food court is often referred to as one of the best in Vegas. You can get cheap pizza, sandwiches, breakfast, burgers, and even pastries there.

The “Secret Pizza Place” (Hallway Secret Pizza) at the Cosmopolitan

(pictured above, courtesy about.com) The not-so-secret-anymore secret pizza place at the Cosmopolitan will fill your belly but no break the bank. You can order a 16″ pie for $17, which is a steal on the Strip. The same cannot be said for staying there, though! Did we mention it’s open until 4am?

The Oyster Bar at Harrah’s

Grab some soup and a beer and it’s under $20 at the Oyster Bar, where you’ll find good quality at a great price. $12 for a half dozen oysters.

In-N-Out Burger

The closest location is on Dean Martin Drive (formerly Industrial Dr.) near the Strip, and it’s worth any trip. Simply put, In-N-Out Burger has some of the best burgers at any price anywhere in the country. It makes it that much better that you can get a meal there for cheap and walk there from the Strip. “You have to have an In-N-Out Burger!” is said many times by locals and tourists alike.

Also, if you’re looking for a cheap hotel to cut expenses even further, we’ve got you covered at The Rio for as low as $49 per night.

Cheap Hotels in Vegas

Vegas PalazzoOne of the most important things most people look at when planning a Vegas getaway is hotel rates, and we’re here to help with that process.  Have a look at our list and then click below to be taken straight to the site for your hotel of choice:

We’ve got you covered at The Rio for as low as $49 per night. You can go even better with the famous seafood buffet there and be full and save money. The seafood is to die for. Check out our list on Where to Eat in Vegas for more great buffet options.

New York New York has rates from $55 per night. The rooms are average in size and the sports book is small, but you’ll get your money’s worth if you plan on not being in your room much. It is Vegas, after all!

The Luxor has their lowest Vegas hotel rates at $50 a night. A cool Egyptian theme makes this place a lot of fun to stay, and the price doesn’t hurt, either. Carrot Top and Criss Angel are a couple of attractions hosted here as well.

The Excalibur’s best rate guarantee will do just fine for $33 a night. A nice buffet here, and this is one of the cheapest hotels we could find. You would expect a dip in quality, but this is simply not true. We enjoy the Excalibur for what it is–a great cheaper option.

We can also help you find your hotel of choice with our new Vegas iPhone App, complete with contact information. We have hotel information and price ratings for each venue. Have a look around, and be sure to check out Vegas Hipster, find us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter!
